"SPRINGFLING" 2009 PRACTICE SCHEDULING INFORMATION

PRACTICE SCHEDULING INFORMATION

• Coaches are asked to submit practice requests by November 1.

• Coaches should request date and total amount of time desired via email to Gene DeLorenzo.

• GKD will guarantee at least two hours of practice time per day. Additional time may be allotted if time and space permits. GKD continues to work on procuring additional practice facilities for your needs.

• Please keep requests generalized to AM, PM or EVENING along with date. Practice amounts may be 1.0, 1.5, or 2.0 hours in duration. Coaches may indicate priority time requested, but, again, times will be assigned based on a facility availability structure.

• Teams are encouraged to bring own athletic trainer if practice attendance is mandated. GKD will supply athletic trainer ( s ) at all games and will also supply all teams with information relative to health services facilities located within Palm Beach County for team needs.

• Practice facility hours will vary: Many will be on a Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm basis only. There will be weekend practice times ( 8 am to 11 pm ) available at Lake Lytal Park.

• Times for field maintenance are mandated to GKD by the local host providers. When a field, or fields, are “down “ for maintenance, we must adhere to the time schedule as indicated.

• Teams are expected to arrive at practice sites on time and use time allotted.

• Teams wishing to cancel practice time may do so up to 24 hours in advance by calling Gene DeLorenzo directly. Please understand that cancellation of practice may well mean an empty field whereas another team could have been using that space otherwise. This situation is not an advisable one.

• GKD will entertain requests for practice time changes; but cannot guarantee same after February 15, 2009. ( once final practice times have been set ). Shifts in practice time affect staffing schedules, payment for fields, game coverage scheduling and travel needs.

• Coaches are asked to submit final lodging locations to GKD as soon as possible. Every effort will be made to locate teams’ practice sites nearby to hotel choice. In addition to reduced travel time, this may allow teams to bring ice coolers with them to field practice sites for health needs. Virtually all practice sites will have water fountains operating nearby, in addition to rest room facilities for your needs.
